First Day of School

Today is the first day of school for my kids so I thought a backpack project would be perfect. Besides, they are all the rage over at Splitcoast Stampers. You can check out the forum and project links http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=375759 . The pattern is a little vague, it is basically a 2,4,6,8 box with a flap for the top. It makes the backpack 4 1/2 " tall, but you know me, I love tiny things so naturally I cut mine down to 3 1/2" and it's so cute!!
I closed the flap and the pocket with Velcro circles, used the new In Color ribbons and, shocking I know, Bella Rose DSP. These would be cute with candies oh...,and especially cute for Teacher Appreciation Week. I better lay low till that's over so I don't have to make 50 of these :)
Nicholas has a man teacher this year who is very athletic and outdoorsy, so I am making him a backpack in guy colors. Should I fill it full of loose granola? That ought to get his attention (insert cheesy grin)! Guy teacher gifts are kind of hard. How much fun can you have creating packaging for a Home Depot gift card?????

It looks like you have to be a demonstrator to access the instructions. A lot of people are having trouble. I'm working on a tutorial for the shorter one I made and will post it soon.
